Michael Schmidt - Bayern 4 Klassik : CD-Tipp - 19.Juni 2001

Here is a pleasing CD of flute concertos by Bohemian contemporaries of Haydn and Mozart : charming music (at times, indeed, more than merely charming), recorded with atmosphere and clarity. It is finely played by Bruno Meier who has established a corner for himself in the field of late-eighteenth-century music for flute. The disc is doubly welcome as the Krommer is only available in a revised version for clarinet and neither of the other works is listed in the current catalogue.
